30 Aug Bookkeeping 1: QuickBooks and Accounting for Small Business Professionals
Need bookkeeping know-how? Are you looking to learn more about bookkeeping for your own small business? Are you looking to take your bookkeeping skills up a level? Do you need help learning what cloud accounting is all about? Is Quickbooks a mystery?
Bookkeeping 1 will be a comprehensive 12-week class that will focus on Quickbooks Online and bookkeeping for small businesses. This class will orient users with the Quickbooks Online program, instruct in basic financial accounting, introduce streamlined workflows, and give a demonstration of various integrated technologies such as timekeeping programs. In addition, we will cover payroll, payment processing, audit-ready records organization, year-end and period closing systems, reconciliations, journal entries, software integrations that work with QuickBooks and best practices for bookkeeping professionals. Software will be included in the class. Students should expect to become familiar with basic workflows, problem-solving in the Quickbooks software, basic security best practices, and others skills required to complete bookkeeping work. Office hours will be offered for those that wish to pursue certification with either AIPB or as a Quickbooks Proadvisor.

Class will meet weekly from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at 56 Centre Street. An online option is available. Register HERE
Students should anticipate an additional ½ hour to 1 ½ hours of work outside class depending on their level of familiarity with various concepts and general accounting.
This class will require access to a home computer or laptop with internet and Excel or Google Sheets (free). Quickbooks software included.
